Pittsburgh, PAFollowing the construction and success of Whole Foods Market by PWWG along with ongoing neighborhood development efforts, The Mosites Company has been able to expand retail shopping on a strip of land along the railroad and busway main line in East Liberty. The next phase to the east involves several irregularly shaped parcels, accommodating adjacent historic buildings, challenging topography, planned infrastructure realignment, and the integration of the two major Port Authority Transit facilities, among the busiest in the county.
The site’s location at a major crossroads in East Liberty presents a unique opportunity for transit oriented development and the possibility of upgrading the existing transit station and pedestrian and vehicle access to and through the site. On these studies and in developing the Master Plan, PWWG has worked with representatives from East Liberty Development, Port Authority, traffic engineering firms and transit consultants. Development options including retail, fitness, and loft housing have been studied thus far, with planning continuing.
