ABOUT PWWG PEOPLE



Perfido Weiskopf Wagstaff + Goettel is composed of about 20 registered architects, intern architects, and administrative personnel, including 3 partners: Alan Weiskopf, Kevin Wagstaff, and Sheldon Goettel. The team is a dedicated and skillful group of people that includes graduates from Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, Kent State, the University of Virginia, and the University of Cincinnati. Among the architectural staff, about one-half are registered architects and one-half are intern architects working toward registration. Staff members are encouraged to participate in the AIA and to engage with the community through other activities.

ALAN WEISKOPF, AIA


Alan Weiskopf, AIA, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and participated in UC's co-op education program. After five years at Woollen Associates in Indianapolis, he joined L.P. Perfido Associates as an Associate in 1981 and became a partner in the firm in 1987. He currently serves as the Managing Partner of the firm. In his time at the firm he has directed the majority of the firm's work in preservation and he has been directly involved in the firm's higher education work.


Outside of PWWG, Alan has been active in civic and professional organizations. He is a past president of AIA Pennsylvania, a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh and serves as the chair of the Board of Appeals for the Bureau of Building Inspection in Pittsburgh.




SHELDON GOETTEL, AIA


Sheldon Goettel, AIA, a Partner at PWWG, is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and Washington and Jefferson College. He has specific expertise in historic preservation and housing, with an understanding of intricate funding streams for public/private housing partnerships. He has also been the Architect-in-Charge of the restoration of the historic Palace Theatre in Greensburg. His expertise in forensic and reconstructive work is evidenced by curtainwall reconstructions for St. Therese Plaza and William Morehead Plaza, and other facilities - while occupied.


Mr. Goettel is an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, he is the president of Pittsburgh Filmmakers, and he is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh.




KEVIN WAGSTAFF, AIA


Kevin Wagstaff, AIA, is a Partner at PWWG and is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Virginia. He began his professional career working in New York, first for Skidmore Owings and Merrill and then for Perkins and Will. Kevin then spent two years teaching architecture at the Savannah College of Art Design before moving to Pittsburgh in 1993 and joining Perfido Weiskopf Architects as an associate. After three years of private practice on his own from 2001-2003, he rejoined PWA and became a partner in the firm in July of 2004.


Kevin brings design leadership and diverse experience with an emphasis in market-rate housing and academic buildings. He also serves on the board of AIA Pittsburgh.
